I decided to install the **ATOMRC F405 NAVI MINI Fixed Wing Flight Controller** on my AtomRC Flying Fish.
I soldered the power connections and tried to connect to the FC via INAV (the issue is not related to INAV/ArduPilot).
The flight controller beeps during startup, the LEDs work, and I can even put it into DFU mode (I can tell from the LED behavior). However, the USB connection is completely ignored by the computer.
The FC is powered externally, and I am using the 6-pin USB cable. I checked all the wires for continuity with a multimeter, and everything seems to be fine. However, two different laptops do not react to the device at all.
As a sanity check, I connected my old Matek V2 flight controller, and it was detected immediately on the same laptop. So the problem is definitely not the cable or the drivers.
Most likely, there is some kind of defect with the USB connector or the USB circuitry on the FC.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I could check or how I could diagnose the problem?
My first FC for sub250g wing. Came already connected (F405 mini top board + PBD board + screws and standoffs). Had to be unscrewed and separated for soldering. Goldpins could be already soldered - it would be helpful. Watch out for USB cable - mine had 4 wires for 6 pins and I was wondering why my PC (and INAV) doesn't see the FC, while the power was delivered;> Had to buy 6 pin cable with 6 wires instead, so the USB cable attached was just useless. When soldered with capacitator, power cables, XT60 and all pins, FC weights about 15-18 g. Overall it works fine.
